Why are they different?

It has been long time since I posted something really for Indian students. I wanted my juniors to read it and comment on it. It is not that I am trying to show big-brother attitude or trying to mould you at this juncture of life where you are ought to be independent.

I have experienced both the worlds so I think my experience would value you guys in some way or the other. It is not new that we call our teachers true Hitler's or martinet. Even I dislike that and so as you. The turmoil you are facing now had been faced by me once upon a time. Indian teachers are tagged as the representative of highest extent for discipline and mannerism.
Our movies like “3 Idiots” also didn't fail to portray it, which is evident from scene when Aamir Khan was kicked out of class because of indecency in Machine's class. What happens is that Indian professors and teachers used to see us from an angle that's completely different to their Western counterparts.

I will go step by step and will highlight about both parties along the way.

Indian teachers are concerned about you and your future.

I know exceptions are there but I will talk about mass. Indian teachers feel that they are your career- guide. Every individual is a builder of his own destiny but if guided they would venture into the right path at right time. Let us try to elucidate and exemplify this a bit more. I remember the day when we were given the task of preparing seminars for final grading. As usual some were defaulters. It is not that they were failures but they tried their best to mug up as much as they could and represent it before a mass. They had stage fear, slow approach and little idea of the outcome. They came to our Manoranjan Panda sir seeking help. They elaborated their grievances and stood there like sheep going to be butchered. Luckily, I was there in sir's cabin when sir was approached by our defaulter list. Sir, very politely said that give your best and leave to me the rest. They went and gave okay sort of performance. They were not nervous but rather confident that an Indian teacher would never disappoint them and that happened too. They got grades which is more than they expected. It is not that the teacher has been duped but the confidence of a teacher on a student and vice versa. It is really sad to quote the precarious and disastrous condition here; where you get duped at each step because they are lazy to give justification to one's labor. They show you a colored image when you enter the theatre with their kaleidoscopic imagery but when you come to your senses you realize it to be just a black and white image. Here professors don't bother to play with your grades and just do according to their mindset at the time of grading.

Those whom I quoted above are now placed at good companies and now hold posts envying many in the field and it is just because they had Indian teacher who care about them and about their career like a father who can't see dreams of his sons shatter in anyway.

Affection towards a student

Who am I? Am I any special? I sometime do ask this question to me. I must say I am just like you and the man whom I respect and how much I don't know myself is going to be quoted here. I am short of words that I can use to enounce this man and his deeds. I was in deep trouble while getting my Official transcripts from BPUT office due to shortage of time. I got my I-20 from NJIT and needed these Official transcripts by all means. The normal processing would take 6-7 days and if I would have to wait that much time I would be losing 4 months of studies. I was in jittery and went to a teacher, who I feel can do wonders. He is none other than Biswajit sir. He didn't ask a single question and took all the documents from me. I was at the College completing my other formalities. At around 3pm I got a call from saying "Arey aasi jaa BPUT Office to kama hei gala"(come to BPUT office your job is done). I was ecstatic and went to the office straight away to get my documents which are almost like a passport to USA. I still remember that, after all these help he wished me all luck and said "Do well there".
But to be specific here professors don't have time for you because they have to go on vacations. The job I sought was very important to me and to my career but that has no importance to him. I had to see him to let him show my own exam paper which would have altered my grades a lot. But he said come to me after the vacation. I just laughed and laughed looking at his reply and thought just two lines.

We Indians have an adage from couplets of Saint Kabir.

" गुरु गोविन्द दोनों खड़े काके लागून पाँव,
बलिहारी गुरु आपने जों गोविन्द दियो बताएं ||"

This is what one should follow for these epitomes of sacrifice. I really owe lot to my teachers in shaping me to what I am now and where I am now. Thanking them from the core of my heart.

Kuch to baat hai!!!

FORMAL LETTER TO NEAR AND DEAR ONES.

Dear friends,
This is a formal letter to all my friends who are scattered here and there so do read and feel it. This is America, I could believe that the culture is different, the nature is different and the prices(of course) are different but I bet the air is the same, the water is the same and the earth is also the same.

It took me hardly a minute a decide what I am, but thing is that what one adheres to in life wherever he/she is. There are basically three types of people; basic and abundant category who change according to atmosphere and lose what they actually are, second category who do not change from basic what may come and third category who stick to basic and add flavour to the basic stuff.

First category is most awful by nature as they forget what they are. They are like the wild boar escaped from the cage. They simply find what they can have to have more eyes focused on them. But believe me one can't challenge Americans in America. Even one goes to extremity you are just a freak who is trying to uproot someone in whose blood it is present.

Second category suffer a lot in life. They can't adopt to the new changes and circumstances and may perish in life. They are like baby leopard frog who were brought by there mother for the first time to the land. Their mother wishes them to adopt to air and be a friend in order to survive. In America one can't wear a dhoti and roam all around as it is a sign of insanity. One can't challenge them with his own style statement.

Third category is what Indians and my dear near need to have it. Believe me add flavour to what your base is. You can't challenge Americans in their home land. If you feel you are something then I think you can easily outwit them.
Now time to cite some incidents......
It was a sunny day and it is in a train from Penn station to Metro Park on a NJ Transit we have our HERO. The guy(HERO) was sitting in a compartment where three ladies were there, an Ossan(old man) and two more American dudes. On one side there were three creatures; one lady probably a married, the guy and the old man. On the other side two ladies and the two American dudes. Old man was sitting to the left of the guy and the lady to the right. In front seat the lady at the extreme was occasionally gazing at this odd creature who was singing songs audible to self and just people next to him. The lady in front was caught once when looking at our HERO. She adjusted her earphone attached to the Ipod as an excuse. The girl was American so finding excuses was not that big a deal. Our HERO was engaged to his singing so paid no more heed. The train got a jerk may be due to swift turn and when HERO saw at the American dudes he felt being looked at by someone and saw the girl gazing again. It was awful though bearable.
Time went by and HERO was again lost in singing. The lady next to hero got a call and was seeking the name of the station and HERO told her that the station was ELIZABETH. But that time also he was watched by a cute pair of eyes. They were of that girl.
HERO was plainly dressed just like Indian with American Flavour. But still he was gazed at by American beauties and that too not once or twice but thrice. So just one thing I want to saw "KUCH TO BAAT HAI----He has something in him". Some may say its style but to tell you the truth the HERO was me and all those who know me also know well what my costumes are. I am the same SUMAN. But see the impact its just being self with flavour. :P :P
Yours truly,

I did it again!!!

Hi friends,

This is something funny and interesting as it happened twice in my life and that too during same time period that is beginning of new life. Oh sorry for the disappointment but it was not that beach incident. It was 2nd August 2010 near Hess gas station at Harisson, New Jersey and I was starting the new life of Master's. I boarded a van from the college to my room at Julia Gardens apartment. I was sharing a three seater seat with three other people. We were four people in all, an American at left end and two ladies in the middle and myself at the right end of the seat. The ladies were Indian and our driver was an American.

I was near the van-door and was all silent. It was just near the gas station that one of the ladies moved from her seat as if she was in a hurry. I was the one to open the door as I was just besides the door so when I felt the vehicle was about to stop I opened the door. Unluckily the driver was in no mood to stop as the signal was green and with open door we moved some distance. This time also I jumped from the running van and it was similar sort of the one that had occurred 4 years back when I started my Engineering life.
It was a deja vu of our very own Sarat Bhaina's (fondly called as John) bus's incident. He drives the bus as John Abraham was driving the Dhoom bike. The incident was exactly the same and due to the Green signal over traffic he also kept moving and I jumped from the running vehicle thinking it to be halting. That time though I got no bruises, I was bit scared but to be frank this time I felt awesome and a bit nostalgic... :P

So its almost the same situation whether I am staying at India or at America. Keep in touch and be in good health....

Just Ponder buddies...

It is just two basic things I want you to ponder about:
1)Why a guy like me was there?
2)Why were you not there?

It was 5:30 pm in the evening on the day dated 29th august 2010 in New Jersey, USA. I went to Sandy Hook beach. The weather was awesome though it was a little bit cloudy but the sun was shinning brightly. The water was cool and the closer one approaches the ocean the better it feels on the sand. Some life guards were there on chairs keeping an eye on the swimmers.

Apart from the life guards the beach was practically deserted for me. I mean I have nothing to see, no humans to gaze at, no characters to study, no individuals to interact with and practically for me it was a beach without a soul.

There were noises and chattering from all around. Some screams some joyous exclamations and splashing of water. Talks and calls were there. Some time later even the whistle blown by life guard to warn someone going deep into waters.

I can hear many things but still unable to find solace for eyes to gaze at something. I folded my trousers a little from the bottom and step foot into the Great Atlantic Ocean. I saw a basket with some shells in it. The water was very soothing so I stood there for some time but still unable to soothe my eyes with something interesting.

I came out of water and cleaned my feet and relaxed a bit on the sand. But I could only hear voices as nothing to gaze at. My eyes pondered from places to places to rest on something and my situation was exactly the same as of your current state of mind. You must be thinking that whether I went to some kind of "Ghost Beach" or am I becoming insane in the new city or was the beach itself is marooned.

Impractically being practical it was just none of the three. Americans spend very little on clothing that's why they are affluent and Indians spend much on clothing so we are still poor. Hope your pondering mind stopped wandering so just stop floundering. I couldn't find anything soothing to my eyes and my only relief was the sky. Hope you could rest your eyes on something.......:D :D

POOR CHARIOT----Lalu's Garib Raath

GARIB DESH MAIN GARIB RAATH PE....

It was June 14th night 2010 when I was eagerly waiting at the Hatia(place near Ranchi) station for a train to board to Bhubaneswar. It was around 8:30pm I reached the station with my luggage. The crowd was overwhelming at the platform and I felt as if the whole of Ranchi(state of apna MSD, cool capt. Dhoni) was at the platform to board the train. All faces seems so familiar yet so strange to be approached.

The announcement was too funny and they keep on repeating the name MANISH(Only they know who was he because no one else has moved by an inch after so many calls). After some time they started their jokes and loud laughs over the mike. Then suddenly all stopped and an announcement----"Hatia-karaghpur express jo ki Hatia se Kharagpur jayegi teen number platform par aa chuki hai." It was ridiculous how can Hatia-Kaharagpur express can go to and from anywhere else.....

After sometime a green and yellow animal came showing its back to us. People were ecstatic and suddenly then a fart sound. It was awful and deathly in smell. The scene matched the sand storm in Mummy movie. It was the announcement again "Hatia- Bhubaneswar Garib Raath Express Banadamunda ki taraf se platform number ek main pravesh kar rahi hai.." And from the dark the animal showing its back entered the platform. The animal was none other than the Hatia-Bhubaneswar Garib Raath Express.

It was a heavenly hell in the train termed Garib Raath. The train is exceptionally clean and cosy. I entered G6 Compartment and searched for seat number 9. I occupied my seat and then all of a sudden a huge mass started moving aimlessly among the passway. It was for 6-7 minutes I was seeing new faces appear near my seat. Suddenly all vanished except a family comprising of a husband, wife and a young boy around 14 years. Another man appeared having seat numbered 7. All settled but the train was still on the platform when the family opened their dinner. I don't know why they board the train empty stomach and if they board then why can't they wait for the train to leave the platform atleast. It was such idiotic of them to start gorging the food even when the train has not moved an inch.
It shows the garib mentality we have.

The train left the platform and started gaining pace. I then went to seat number 13 as it was vacant and let my both of my companions could feel the air conditioned compartment. I was looking into the dark and thinking of something I should be engaged to when I reached home as all my exams are over. Then someone walked in and it was a man of dark complexion having black curly hair and broad moustache. He was a railway staff who was providing Pillow, two bedsheets and one blanket all in a packet at the cost of Rs.25/-. All were taking the packet so I also took one but I don't know what good would it serve as the temperature was around 28c. In the night I came to know why all opted for the packets offered and I was lucky to follow the suite because during night they deliberately reduce the temperature so that all those who haven't fetched the packet should buy it immediately. In the morning the temperature was normal again when the man came to fetch the packets.
It was really Garib Raath where people hardly realize the shrewdness behind the Air conditioning. Here people are garib of knowledge.

In the morning I woke up around 8am and thought I must be close by now as the train was timed to reach Bhubaneswar around 9am. But to my utter dismay we were running late by an hour. Its not new in Indian railways to reach the destinations late. But it is a disgrace when goods train is also allowed before Passenger's train. Our train was detained to let a goods train to pass. Then think what value are the passengers of ? Thus we can verify how garib are we where even the goods are prioritized before us.
Hence garib from status and value.

So garib desh ke garib waasiyon iss baar ke liye itna hi....
Thanking you!

CET-ians to simians

Cubicles at CET...

Books are what they look,
looks and style what they avoid,
remain completely null and void.

Ladies make them shy,
and they couldn't even say "Hi".
Eyes dropped down,
holding a grade’s crown,
are the orangutans of CET.

Praise the passing by lady,
hoping for a birdie.
They are quick to shift,
and always ready to lift.
Always find a girl to hook up,
unperturbed in case of break up.
They never say good bye,
quick to reply “aye-aye”
are the Rhesus macaques of CET.

Load the tracks,
with a plaque.
In the crowd they are loud,

are easy to spot,
like a black blot on a white cloth.
Weird in nature, weird in attire,
no mock , no satire.
One who loves to bully,
be a part of all folly.
Cull to disrupt,
And difficult to interrupt
are the Baboons of CET.

Cool like water ,
sweet like butter,
like a bird they flutter.
They are nice like ice,
true by nature like a teacher.
Intense a creature,
lovable a character.
Roam alone, think alone,
are the golden snub nosed monkey of CET.

CETians, I have represented various creatures, I mean characters present in CET with reference to various simians. Identify the class which you belong to.
Thanx for reading and do keep commenting.....

Lastly we dressed for whom??

Attire---IV

"Chalte chalte kapdon main char saal beet gaye socha tha aakhri saal three-fourth main aayenge."

सोंचने दो जो सोचेंगे (Let them think)

Friends it was a really bad to be bullied by one or the other to wear what they want us to wear. This was our last and final chance to wear what we wanted. Guys have been struck not once not twice but thrice to bow down before the circumstances. The guys and gals have been barred from portraying their lascivious and lewd attitudes. Don't take the stuff otherwise, its just the basic instincts that is found in all animals that is to be in the best form. Its not new to see male lions roaring high to show its prowess. No doubt all of you must have seen the beautiful bird peacock spreading its feathers to show its beauty.
We belong to the same animal class hence tendencies to be in best form were to be revealed one day. This last year was a free bird's year, a year where we have nothing to fear, nothing to care and nothing to hide. Teachers are like friends now, juniors don't bother what these oldies wear and to the best no senior to make us drill in formals.

We have little time left in hands and a lot to recollect. But what the heck should we munch as our attire was gifted and decided by situation and persons. Friends are like pills in one's life and act as panacea. They will hide your mistakes, guide your paths and be there for you always.

What are the reasons that can make one come to the fore? It's really pleasing to quote the best reasons I have in mind.

LOVE::::::::::

This is a question in self what the word means but still it is one of the best reasons that can change a fellow's dressing. A girlfriend always want her loved one to be dressed in best. Its not an imposition but according to the liking of partner. The lady never desire to put pressure on her partner to wear something of her own choice but rather try to support what the guy does.

What we call "Pyaar aandha hota hai!"

Same here guys the best look is what is liked by you and not anything funky and out of the world. The girl if true from heart will support you rather than altering you. A lady feels good when his partner is comfortable in an outfit. She doen;t change the looks but adds a bit of her own taste to it and the difference is in the number of eyes focussed on the person and jaws dropping seeing the looks. So this time the guy dressed in himself and a taste worthy to all eyes out there.
Example is my sweet adu(adyashree) and pappu(Pratyush). Adya liked Pp always in simple attire and never asked him to wear glazing stuff. One day the lady shopped for Pappu. The dress was a checked full shirt and a cotton mixed jean. The change was great, simplicity and sweetness of pappu yet style of adu and thats what love does.

FOES:::::::
Inimical relations even lead one to a competition where one needs to open up. Here the wardrobe is completely replaced. Its just a war of attires. The more mess one create in wardrobe the more praise he is going to gather. Its not the brand but the style one needs to show. I have a sweet yet simple example of the same but I think it will be better not to speak of it in public.

FRIENDSHIP:::::::

I got two pills in the end of my bachelor's degree. My sweet sompi (sompa) and sweet donkey (silpi). They were the reasons for my change of attire. After being suppressed and depressed from all corners I was in no mood to wear aureate outfit. I still feel it would look garish and flashy on me. On the last day of our college when we had our last internal exam these two ladies me to come wearing something new and funky like a Shirt on a T-Shirt. I was all surprised what will I look with these stuffs on me, still these two ladies assured me I would look cute and cool.
They said "Char saal tak apni maarzi ka pehna aakhri din humra kehna maan."
I took the step and came in an attire that dazzled all onlookers not due to the attire but due to the combination। This was my own choice with a bit of flavor added by my two sweet friends. And thus the style statement was given in a style at the eleventh hour in 4 years of bachelor's degree. I let others think what they wanted but dressed in such an outfit for these two lovely sweet ladies and alas the statement was loud enough like the roaring of a lion.

These three reasons do alter our attire in our own way. Here we came out with what we wanted. What was needed was a bit of push and these three reasons can provide the necessary push to come out of our cocoons.

Thanking you all for reading these four parts of attire ....Hoping you all like it. I will be coming shortly with new and interesting topics for you.
